Etched in Stone’s unique laser engraved stone tiles are created from your digital image or photo print. We carefully process your image and laser engrave it directly onto the stone using an intense beam of light. The etched surface is then washed with a white pigment to provide just the right contrast. These stones are great as a gift and can be customized with your personal sentiment.

How it Works

First, the artist scans your photo print or transfers your digital image into our computer program. The image is then enhanced through a series of photographic editing programs and can be personalized with names, dates, quotes, etc. The picture is then sent to the laser where it is engraved in marble, granite, or glass using a laser beam 3/1000th of an inch in diameter. The laser evaporates a tiny spot on the engraving surface and the laser can be set to a variety of resolutions, depending on the quality of the initial picture. Finally, the etched surface, which is smooth to the touch, is then washed with a white pigment to produce a beautiful, high quality finished piece of personalized art. In addition to the white pigment highlighted gray/black image produced from the laser etching process, the stone can also be painted with oil based paints and sealed by the artist, for an additional charge.

The laser engraved stone is best highlighted with light or placed in bright sunlight. The stone will not fade or turn yellow and can be cleaned with non abrasive soap and water.
